Summer experiences: The ultimate guide for your adventure

5. August 2020

Our summer experience program offers 19 different adventures to discover. From herb hikes to cooking and beer brewing courses to alpaca or sunrise hikes, you can chose from a great variety. To make sure you find the right adventure for you, here is the ultimate guide to the experience programme.

Workshop Tyrolean Cuisine

This is the right activity for you if you:

… really like apple strudel, dumplings and co.

… are not afraid of calories

… want to learn tips and tricks from top chefs

The good Tyrolean cuisine is known far beyond the borders of the province. Hearty Tyrolean Gröstl, various dumpling variations and of course the heavenly apple strudel are classics from Tyrol that you simply must love. During the workshop, the top chefs Thomas Kluckner and Waal Sternberg will show you how to prepare these dishes really well – and no question, they will be enjoyed afterwards of course!

The cooking workshop takes place every Thursday. Costs: only exclusively with the guest card 18€. Registration possible in the online shop, in one of the information offices or in your accommodation.

Herb hike: Off to the organic pharmacy

This is the right activity for you if you:

… you would like to know more about (medicinal) herbs

… to rediscover the knowledge of your grandmother

… want to heal small wounds, aches and tired hiking feet yourself

Our meadows and forests are full of treasures – we just have to recognize them. Fortunately, our herbalist knows them all. On a hike along the meadow paths of Reith she likes to show the medicinal herbs that are hidden here and explains everything worth knowing about their effects and correct use.

The herb hike takes place every Monday. Costs: 9€with guest card, 25€ without guest card. Registration possible in the online shop, in one of the information offices or in your accommodation.

Sunrise Hike to the Gschwandtkopf Summit

This is the right activity for you if you:

… want to experience an unforgettable sunrise adventure in the mountains

… are no afraid to get up (really) early

A mountain tour at sunrise is a really special experience. The moment when the first rays of the sun timidly move over the peaks and bathe everything in a golden light, it is clear that getting up early was more than worth it. The sunrise hike to the Gschwandtkopf is a unique summer experience.

The sunrise hike takes place every Tuesday. Costs: 7€ with guest card, 20€ without guest card. Registration possible in the online shop, in one of the information offices or in your accommodation.

Forest Bathing

This is the right activity for you if you:

… are tired of the big city and urgently need a green break

… want to immerse yourself in the peace and quiet and the green of the forest

… want to hug trees (don’t worry, you don’t have to)

“Shinrin Yoku”, in English “Forest Bathing” is a trend from Japan and a concept of natural therapy and recreation. A stay in the forest is healing, stress-reducing and mood-lifting. Here you can switch off from everyday life, the big city and your mobile phone and enjoy the peace and relaxation in the forest. NatureCoach Verena Hiltpolt shows you how to do this best.

The Forest Bathing takes place every Wednesday. Costs: free with the guest card, 15€ without guest card. Registration possible in the online shop, in one of the information offices or in your accommodation.

Beer Tasting & Beer Brewing Lesson

This is the right activity for you if you:

… like really delicious beer & always wanted to know how the “liquid gold” is actually made

… you want to discover the secrets of the brewery cellar

The Augustinian monks started brewing beer in the Klosterbäu in Seefeld in the 16th century already. This tradition has been preserved until today and the brewery was even awarded as the best microbrewery in Austria. So after more than 500 years, many secrets and stories have been collected in the brewing cellar, of which the master brewer might tell you a few. During the brewing lesson you can not only learn more about the brewing process itself, but also taste special unique items such as “Champagne Beer” or special light beers. If you like, you can also have dinner in the brewing cellar afterwards and enjoy various barbecue and vegetable highlights (early reservation recommended).

The Beer Tasing and Beer Brewing Lesson takes place every Tuesday. Costs: 5€ with guest card, 15€ without guest card. Registration possible in the online shop, in one of the information offices or in your accommodation.

Taster Climbing Course at the Flämenwandl

This is the right activity for you if you:

… are not afraid of lofty heights

… just want to hang out

There are few sports that are as mentally and physically exciting as climbing. The feeling of absolute happiness and freedom when you have climbed a route is overwhelming. If you are curious if you like climbing, you should definitely visit the climbing taster course. Guide Florian gives a detailed introduction to belay techniques and has valuable climbing tips in store. By the way: children can also take part in this experience to make their first attempts on the wall.

The Taster Climbing Course takes place every Saturday. Costs: 7€ with guest card, 24€ without guest card (chldren: 4€ with guest card, 12€ without guest card). Registration possible in the online shop, in one of the information offices or in your accommodation.

That was not all: even more summer activities

In addition to these experiences, numerous other summer highlights await you: a full moon hike, an alpaca hike, a free ride with the mountain railway, a visit to Johanna’s herb garden and much more is offered in the summer programme. So be sure to take a look at the whole programme in detail here so that you don’t miss anything.
